N.B. 1. Medical Ph.D. students and Ph.D. students who enter the program from DC must also complete 6 or more credits from (1) as shown (2 credits from their own department, 4 credits from other departments).

2 Program Completion Requirements
(1)To continue on to DC or Medical Ph.D. :
① Meet the requirements of your own research department for a Master's degree
② Complete 2 Core Foundation Subject credits
③ Complete a total of 6 Transdisciplinary Subject credits (2 credits from your own department, and a minimum of 4 credits from other departments listed in the program)
④ Complete 2 International Practical credits
⑤ Complete 2 Practicum credits
⑥ Successfully pass the Qualifying Examination 1 (QE1) given by the program
(2)Program completion (Ph.D.)
① Meet the requirements of your own research department
② Complete 2 Core Development Subject credits
③ Complete a minimum of 4 Transdisciplinary Development Subject credits (4 Subject credits that were not a part of the early-stage Ph.D. / MC completion requirement)
④ Complete 8 Practicum credits via 6 or more months of research residency abroad
⑤ Successfully pass the Qualifying Examination 2 (QE2) given by the program
⑥ Following necessary Ph.D. supervision, submit and successfully defend your Ph.D. dissertation, as well as pass the final examination with the International Joint Graduate Program (a branch of the Tohoku University Institute for Promoting Graduate Degree Programs)
⑦ Medical Ph.D.s and DC-entry Ph.D. students must complete 6 Transdisciplinary Subject credits in addition to the above
